Anne Shaw Turnage, a survivor since 1973 of colon cancer with metastasis to the liver,
founded CanCare in 1990. With an anonymous gift of $10,000 from a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church
(Houston, Texas) and a belief that no one with cancer should have to suffer alone, Anne set out on a mission to
improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. |
