Nancy Tucker President
Nancy Tucker is president of CanCare, Inc. When diagnosed with metastatic thyroid cancer in 1990, Nancy called on CanCare for help and support. She has been dedicated to its mission ever since. Nancy was hired as CanCare’s first full-time employee in 1991, has held every position at some point during the organization’s growth and is a CanCare volunteer. Nancy has worked with numerous other cancer organizations including serving on advisory boards to help improve the quality of life for cancer survivors. She has been active in the community and is an ordained elder at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Texas. She is married to Tommy Tucker and has one son.

Dr. Tommy Thompson Executive Vice President & COO
After spending 25 years in full-time pastoral ministry Dr. Thompson has joined CanCare as the Executive Vice President and Chief of Operations. Tommy previously served on CanCare’s Board of Directors from 1997 – 2002 and was a member of the CanCare USA task force. Tommy is particularly excited about using his skills and knowledge in leadership and organizational development to help CanCare achieve the progressive goals set forth in our strategic plan. Tommy is married to Jacquie Wulf Thompson and they have two daughters. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in 2006
Joyce Greenfield Director of Community Partnerships
An Ohioan by birth, Joyce earned an undergraduate degree at Ohio State University and a graduate degree at City College of New York. She is a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Houston, Texas. Both of Joyce’s parents were long-term cancer survivors and her sister is a three-time breast cancer survivor. Joyce’s background includes nearly a decade in the corporate world and an equal amount of time in the non profit health arena. Joyce joined CanCare in June 2001 and currently serves as Director of Community Partnerships. Her priority is to expand CanCare’s affiliations within these areas and to reach a larger, more diverse population struggling with cancer. Joyce is married to Gary Greenfield and is the mother of three.

Betsy Schauer Director of Program Services
Betsy is a native Houstonian who has a great desire to give back to the community. As a seven-year cancer survivor, Betsy Schauer describes herself as being like many cancer survivors in that she is grateful to have survived. Her involvement in her church’s “Prayer Room” ministry as well as coordinating a women’s mentoring group has given her much fulfillment. In addition, Betsy has been a mediator for the Better Business Bureau of Houston and the Fort Bend County Dispute Resolution Center. She also has over 19 years of professional human resources experience. Betsy is a graduate of the University of Houston, is married and has one daughter.
Kirsten P. Robbins Director of Development
Kirsten Robbins, a native Californian, moved to Houston, Texas in October of 1999. She received a bachelor of arts in communications from Fresno State University. Kirsten has a background in the non profit field, focusing on fundraising, donor relations and community awareness. She joined CanCare in May of 2001 and serves as the Director of Development. Her goal is to raise community awareness and to attract new members to support CanCare’s ministry of Hope. Her grandmother is a colon cancer survivor since 1985. She is married to Kevin Robbins.
