Volunteer Spotlight: Sharon Kimble-Kramchack
This giving season, we’re shining a light on an extraordinary volunteer with a heart for caregiving: Sharon Kimble-Kramchack. Sharon’s journey is one of resilience and compassion. As a caregiver for her husband during his battle with stage 4 lymphoma, Sharon’s experience shaped her dedication to helping others. Today, she serves as a CanCare volunteer, offering hope and support to those navigating cancer.
Sharon was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, and moved to Houston to complete her degree before becoming an accountant and tax analyst. Outside of supporting CanCare clients, she enjoys cycling and sewing and is currently working on repairing her mother's handmade blankets.
Sharon first learned about CanCare after her husband’s cancer diagnosis, and their journey transformed how they view life, she shared that, “Cancer taught us what really matters in life. It pushes you to prioritize and focus on what’s truly important.”
Sharon wants others to know that CanCare supports not only patients but also survivors and caregivers. Stating that, “So often, people don’t know how to reach out or how to be a caregiver for a loved one with cancer. At CanCare, we have firsthand experience. Whether you’re a patient or a caregiver, we have Certified Survivors and Caregivers who truly understand what you’re going through and are here to help.”
Sharon, your fierce dedication to CanCare’s mission inspires us all. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of so many.
