Jenny is a devoted CanCare volunteer who understands the caregiver's journey firsthand, having been a caregiver for her husband, a lymphoma survivor.

Jenny first discovered CanCare during one of her husband's extended hospital stays, when he began looking forward to visits from a CanCare volunteer. After learning that CanCare also supported caregivers, she made the call that changed everything. The relief of connecting with someone who truly understood what she was experiencing was immediate and profound.

One of the greatest gifts cancer gave Jenny was realizing just how amazing her daughters had become. During their family's cancer journey, her daughters stepped up in every way possible, offering unwavering love and support without even being asked. As Jenny puts it, "I knew they were 'good stock' before cancer, I just didn't know how good! I am one lucky mom!"

When asked about how CanCare impacted her life... I knew I needed help but didn't know where to get it. It was such a welcome relief to reach out to someone who understood what I was feeling and knew what I was experiencing. Having that support during our cancer journey made all the difference, and now I'm honored to provide that same understanding to other caregivers who are walking this difficult path.

My words to pass along to anyone facing cancer... Don't hesitate to reach out for support, especially as a caregiver. We often focus so much on caring for our loved one that we forget we need care too. There are people who understand exactly what you're going through, and they're ready to help. Sometimes the hardest part is just making that first call.
